A rich graphical interface has been added to support locational search, and several features along with it. These include:
    • A fully robust mapping interface - utilizing your existing geo coded information, all businesses within a radius are mapped to the interface.
    • Visual survey status for each business on the map.
    • Grouping of businesses at the same geographical location, such as a plaza or mall.
    • The ability to drop a pin anywhere on the map and re-run the search from that location.
    • The ability to use offline maps where an internet connection is not always guaranteed.
    • No GPS? No problem! Utilize a combination of offline maps and the ability to drop a pin anywhere on the map to find the information that's relevant to you.
    • Locational Search results as a list - if the mapping interface is not for you, you can still leverage the locational search in the field.
  • Historical data is now captured in the application, allowing roll backs of critical data and audits of changes made to records.
  • The ability to lock records on the web so that more than one user is editing data at the same time. This feature is configurable for those that want to utilize it in their workflow.

Version 5.0

What's New?

  • Added a locational search option to record search. A list of all records with stored geo codes within a configurable range are returned when "Local Search" is selected in the search parameters. This feature uses the current location of the tablet as the middle point in its search radius. A GPS enabled device is currently required for this to work.
  • Added a link to Surveyor Notes to the "Survey/Site Info" tab of both the tablet and web applications to improve workflow.
  • Added the "Reason for Change" drop down, a database driven single selection list, to the "Additional Info" tab to capture pre-defined reasons for a record change.
  • Added a prompt for deletion on Contact deletion in the tablet application to prevent unwanted contact deletion.
  • Added a new question asking if businesses would like their address included in the Business Directory. This allows businesses to confirm they want a listing in the business directory, while keeping their address private. This is especially useful for home based businesses.

Improvements

  • Added additional Skill Shortage options to the pre-defined list within the database.
  • New records now auto-populate the "Year Established at this Location" field with the current year. This field remains editable by Surveyors.
  • Further improved filtering on exported reports and filtered out "Closed" businesses.

Fixes

  • Fixed an issue where Skill Shortages and Contacts were not being filtered by the chosen year on 5 Table and Full exports.
  • Fixed an issue where the "Current Year", "Surveyor Name" and "Follow Up Required" fields where not retained in the Search form when moving away from this screen as expected.

Version 4.0

What's New?

  • The M.A.R.V.E.L. Survey process now has the ability to integrate directly with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems. It is currently capable of two way leads communication with SalesForce Enterprise, with more CRMs planned for the future (Web)
  • The application now has the ability to bulk upload data into the underlying database. This is currently a managed service process, but a graphical user interface (GUI) is planned for the future.
  • A field to collect surveyor's notes has now been added. This field carries forward with a business, unlike the additional comments field, to assist surveyors visiting the same business year to year.
  • A 'Significant Changes' report has been added, allowing administrators to spot significant increases or decreases in the values of square footage or number of employees year-to-year of a business.

Improvements

  • Improved the business work flow for street directions. Street direction is now a required field and blank street directions are only allowed in cases where the street has no indicated direction (North, South, East, West) in the database. (Web/Tablet)
  • Simplified the process of collecting data on the number of storeys in a building going forward. Rather than a selection, the number of storeys will be collected as a single number meant to represent the total number of storeys in a building. (Web/Tablet)
  • Made postal code an optional field going forward, allowing surveyors to complete a survey and address this field later as it is sometimes not known ahead of time in the field. (Web/Tablet)
  • Allowed administrators to edit address information on survey data going forward. The restriction of needing a record to be marked as 'Incorrect' in order to edit it has been lifted to improve data integrity (Web/Tablet)
  • The restriction on surveyors in the field on editing surveys has been lifted. The previous edit limit of three has been removed allowing unlimited edits. (Tablet)
  • Several changes have been made to the way new businesses are handled:
    • When a new business is created, the 'New Business' check box is now selected automatically.
    • If a new business from a previous survey is brought to the current survey, it will now no longer retain its 'New Business' status
    • If a business is marked as 'Closed' its 'New Business' status will be removed.
  • The survey process can now collect information on secondary and tertiary NAICS codes, for a total of three (3) NAICS codes per business
  • The process of collecting the space usage of a business has now been simplified. ICI codes will be used to determine space usage and now be automatically populated based on the NAICS code chosen.
  • Surveyors have been added to the list of available parameters for the survey search screen
  • A filter has been added to the '5 Table Export' allowing it to now be filtered by year
